  • Pregnancy Week 10 - At this time the fetal period begins, it will last until your baby's birth. Most of your baby's body functions i.e. circulatory, nervous, reproductive and digestive are fully formed by now.

  • Pregnancy Week 11 - By week 11 your baby's major organs are working normally, the baby has skeleton, nerves and is circulating his blood.

  • Pregnancy Week 12 - At week 12 most of your baby's organs, structures and body system are full formed. The baby's heart begins circulating several quarts of blood throughout the baby's body.

  • Pregnancy Week 13 - Week 13 sees the migration of the baby's intestines from umbilical cord into his or her abdomen. The baby's liver begins secreting bile and the pancreas starts producing insulin

  • Pregnancy Week 14 - By week 14 your baby's body systems are starting to be more independent. He is starting to "breathe" in the amniotic fluid to practice the motions. His digestive system is also starting to move food along his intestine while his renal system starts eliminating it.

  • Pregnancy Week 15 - In week 15 you can see blood vessels clearly through the skin as is it still very thin. The scalp and hair patterns are developing while fine hairs called "lanugo" are covering the body. The rapid development continues at this point

  • Pregnancy Week 16 - At this point your baby needs to empty his/her bladder around every 40-45 minutes, limb movements are becoming more coordinated and vigorous, the head is erect and the legs are developed.

  • Pregnancy Week 17 - Your baby will begin to form his fat this week. The fat begins to deposit under his skin and in important in heat production and metabolism. At delivery, fat will account for 2-6 percent of your baby's total body weight and will help him maintain his body temperature when he is born.

  • Pregnancy Week 18 - Your baby continues to grow rapidly. His bones are continuing the ossification (hardening) process and the pads of the fingers and toes are formed.

  • Pregnancy Week 19 - This is an impressive week for growth! Your baby weighs approximately 250 grams (8-9 ounces) and is about 22 cm or 6 inches long.

  • Pregnancy Week 20 - Over the last four weeks, your baby has grown an incredible amount, and has just about quadrupled his weight.

  • Pregnancy Week 21 - Your baby is still pretty active and continues to move all over in the amniotic fluid. However, towards the end of this trimester the baby will begin to settle, usually in a head down position.

  • Pregnancy Week 22 - The baby is getting bigger and continuing to practice for life outside the uterus. This week your baby has fully developed eyelashes and eyebrows and the hair on your baby's head is continuing to grow as his brain begins a rapid growth process.

  • Pregnancy Week 23 - The body of your baby is getting plumper but his skin is still fairly wrinkled due to the lack of subcutaneous fat. Your baby's face and body is looking more and more like those of an infant, the bones of his inner ear are beginning to harden and his pancreas is developing (the pancreas is very important in the production of insulin).

  • Pregnancy Week 24 - Your baby is almost completely formed. He is now between 1.25 and 1.5 pounds and is about a foot long.

  • Pregnancy Week 25 - Your baby is almost completely formed. He is now between 1.25 and 1.5 pounds and is about a foot long.

  • Pregnancy Week 26 - Your baby's oil and sweat glands are now functioning. His fingernails, toenails, eyebrows and eyelashes are now fully present and will continue to grow until birth.

  • Pregnancy Week 27 - This week marks the beginning of the third trimester. The retina, which is important in the reception of light images, develops its normal layers by the 27th week of gestation.

  • Pregnancy Week 28 - The eyes are partially open and can perceive light. Your baby's eye lashes and eye brows continue to grow and subcutaneous fat is deposited.

  • Pregnancy Week 29 - Your baby's sensory organs are well developed and he can now open his eyes and will turn his head towards the source of any light.

  • Pregnancy Week 30 - Your baby's permanent teeth have developed and are "waiting" in his gums, underneath their baby teeth.

  • Pregnancy Week 31 - In the third trimester all your baby is doing is growing big enough so that he can be born. From now until the end of your pregnancy, your baby will gain weight faster than he'll increase in length.

  • Pregnancy Week 32 - Your baby sleeps approximately 90 to 95 percent of the day now, much like he will after he is born. His skin has become thicker and he continues to gain more of a pinkish color.

  • Pregnancy Week 33 - By now, you have all the amniotic fluid you are going to have and the amount will remain consistent until delivery. Your baby's brain continues to grow, increasing the size of his head.
